There is something else happening with the virus in Minnesota and I assume nationally. The fact that numbers seem to increase of positive tests (due to more testing), the number of deaths is plummeting.  We have had it beaten into our way of thinking that deaths lag positive tests. Well the …

Unusual summer salads

It’s the season of lots of fresh fruits and veggies. For that matter, some are always in season. I’m not big about having tomato, lettuce, cucumber and a bit of shredded cheese sprinkled over the top. IN the winter, I like to make Waldorf salad, a variety of coleslaws, cottage cheese with …

Have we finally got good news? Thanks to the KOD Committee!

Taking basic sweet corn to the next level

It’s that wonderful veggie, corn, today. Looking through articles that pertained to corn, I came across this delightful legend concerning corn tamales that saved Cortez and his men from starvation and death. It seems that when the Indians finally realized that Cortez was not the Great White God, they decided …

Never a dull moment along Highway 8.  Tuesday afternoon; the driver of a white Dodge pickup pressed the wrong pedal and drove through the wall of Lindstrom Motors.  A mechanic was under the lift seen above and luckily escaped with minor injuries. The same can’t be said for the truck.
