“The Quilt Stars on Broadway”, the biennial Quilt Show presented by the Forest Lake Memorial Quilters guild will be held at the American Legion Event Center, 355 Broadway Ave. West, in Forest Lake. Show hours are Friday, April 22, 9-6 PM and Saturday, April 23, 9-4 PM. Admission is $4.

Three generations have tracked area lakes' ice-out for 100 years
Ice-out for 2016 was called on March 19 for the Chisago Chain of Lakes, tying the prior earliest record, March 19, 2012. The Fredell Family. who’ve been the official recorders of ice out since 1916 also are marking a new record--the family’s 100th year as keepers of this magical date.
