CLHS grad donates SWAT upgrade

A Chisago County Special Weapons and Tactical (SWAT) vehicle has been re-fitted with protective glass gunports, at no cost to taxpayers.  The gift is from a Chisago Lakes area native who has made fabrication and design his profession,  and also has a hobby of amassing a collection of militaristic vehicles.

East end of regional trail getting built

Dresel Contracting will be putting a hard surface on the newest section of the Swedish Immigrant Regional Trail very soon;  so local officials and some recreation enthusiasts got on-site August 27,  before the work crews arrive, to celebrate a ceremonial trail “groundbreaking.”

Issues, expenses with re-locating fire hall avoided with council okay to expand on-site

Lindstrom firefighters can look forward to getting some elbow room,  as city council members agreed 4-0, August 20,  to buy and remove the house directly behind and to the east of the firehall on Newell Ave.  (Council member Curt Flug was absent)

Cruising atop a Cushman evokes a simpler time

There is an enthusiastic movement afoot, intent on preserving the memory of lazy, hazy days outdoors, when people tooled about on a Cushman.  The Cushman was a friendly mode of transportation.  You could actually look around while puttering from place-to-place.
