North Branch Council hears P.D. support and accepts audit

Several citizens used the public microphone portion at the start of the North Branch City Council meeting to continue to stress the council should not be looking into dissolving North Branch’s police department.  

Law Enforcement

State patrol reported a fatality in a single vehicle rollover crash, Wednesday May 8 on I-35 between North Branch and Harris. North Branch Police assisted at the scene. The crash was reported about 7 p.m. and blocked traffic while responders were at the scene.

Lou and Linda Radich talk more than 40 years of cooking, serving food

Lou and Linda Radich broke new ground in 1975 when they dared to put pizza and other Italian dishes on a Chisago Lakes area restaurant menu. Locals of Swedish descent cautioned the couple that they might not get many patrons for cuisine from outside of Scandinavia.

North Branch Clinic ribbon-cutting held

The Fairview healthcare system’s presence in North Branch doubled with the opening of Fairview’s new clinic last week. Ribbon cutting was celebrated April 29 at the 18,000 square foot facility, at 5366 386th Street (south of County Market and west of the freeway.)

Sheriff’s personnel were at Green Lake, Spider Lake and they partnered with Washington County authorities at Bone Lake,  to search for Danielle Jelinek last weekend.  The family hopes to re-start coordinated volunteer ground searches again as soon as the weather cooperates.

Saturday, April 27 turned out to be a pretty decent day for Chisago Lakes Prom...the party-goers like those pictured above, participated in the “Grand March” for photos at the school, and then headed to the University of Minnesota McNamara Center for prom.
