Cecilia ‘Sally’ Simpson

Cecilia A. "Sally" Simpson, age 93, formerly of Chisago City, MN, died peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2023 while surrounded by her loving family. Sally was born July 25, 1929 in St Paul, MN, the daughter of Alvin and Ebba (nee Tierney) Jansen. She graduated from Wilson High School, Class of 1947, where she was a proud member of the marching band. Prior to graduation, Sally spent a summer in Glacier National Park working as a waitress. It was there she met her future husband, Wally (Walter) Simpson. She returned home to Minnesota that summer and as fate allowed; Wally and some friends had rented the apartment over her parents' garage. The two were united in marriage in 1950, blessed to have celebrated 70 years together, prior to Wally's passing in 2020. They raised their seven children in St. Paul and then in Minneapolis.
