At the end of the 15th annual Lindstrom Loppet, two things were crystal clear; each year the race gets better and so do the times. Stacked with 383 runners and walkers, the race for first started at 8 A.M. and finished a short 16 minutes later.

Digger Carlson of White Bear Lake was the first overall racer to cross the finish line with a time of 16:03, more than a minute faster than last year’s top time. John Leaf was the first local finisher on the men’s side, running the race in 17:30.

In the female bracket, 15 year-old Katie Salvatore of Shoreview finished 37 seconds ahead of Tracy Nelson-Bungert of Lindstrom with a time of 20:34. Rose Bruce of Chisago City took third overall while Laura Grossman of Center City, and Stacey Anderson of Chisago City, rounded out the top five.
