The Chisago County Fair is all set for July 17-20 in Rush City just east of the I35. Be sure to take part in Kids Day to be on Saturday, July 19 starting at 10:30 a.m. It’s free and great fun organized by the Chisago County 4-H Youth Leaders and Fair Board members. Youth 10 years and under will play games, search for money a saw dust pile, compete in the Veggie 500 and be eligible to take part in a drawing for a free bike.
Enter Open Class
at the Fair
Adults and youth are invited to bring things they have made to enter in open class at the Chisago County Fair, July 17-20 held in Rush City. There are classes for photography, baking, sewing, crafts, woodwork, flowers and more. Youth of any age and adults too can enter. Farm Family Awards
and More to be at Fair
Come celebrate the accomplishments and winnings of many people at the Chisago County Fair July 17-20 in Rush City. During the Amateur Talent Contest on Thursday, July 17 at 7 p.m. there will be a number of awards presented. Included will be the Farm Family of the Year, Century Farm Awards, Fair Person of the Year and Outstanding Senior Citizen recognition. The best part is the fair is free to attend with a small payment for parking as a fund raiser for a local group.
Fair Highlights
There is lots of room for local people to try out their skills in various ways at the Chisago County Fair July 17-20 in Rush City. Included is a motocross race on Thursday night, demo derbies on Friday and Saturday night, truck and semi tractor pull Sunday afternoon and tractor pull Sunday night. All are open for anyone to enter just by calling and registering.
Of course if you do not want to enter but wish to come and cheer or watch feel free to do that as well. Call the Chisago County Extension Office for a fair schedule or information on who to contact to register. 651-674-4417
Fair Parade
Sunday, July 20
Everyone loves a parade and the Chisago County Fair Parade will be Sunday, July 20 at 2 p.m. There will be bands and floats plus clowns and more. Come see the fair before or after. The 4-H cafeteria will be serving a roast pork dinner starting at 11:30 a.m. All funds raised in the 4-H cafeteria are used for scholarships and direct youth programming such as project training. For information on how to register to be in the parade call Loren Jennings. The Chisago County Fairgrounds is located in Rush City just east of I35.
Visit Farm animals
and Horses at
County Fair Barns
The Chisago County Fair is a great place to learn more about farm animals and horses. Come watch the rabbit, poultry, beef, swine, dairy, goat, sheep and horse shows. You can visit the animals in the barns as well watching 4-H members and other exhibitors care for them.
