Chisago City resident John Guse, in dive suit foreground, organized a volunteer search Saturday on Big Green Lake. Divers went down in approximately 15 feet of murky water hunting for a prosthetic leg that a boy lost while inner-tubing. Guse had been diving in Green Lake the weekend before last-- when a boater approached him about the possibility of locating the expensive submerged limb. Guse posted a notice on the website mnscuba.org seeking volunteers and 11 divers were out July 19. Scandia and Chisago City fire departments lent manpower and assistance and Joe’s Pizza donated lunch when divers took a break. The limb was not located. If anyone should spot the prosthetic leg while boating or spot it on-shore please secure it and contact the sheriff’s department 257-4100.
