She also won the use of a Featherlite horse trailer for the next year.
During the Western Saddle Clubs Association (WSCA) annual banquet, in Shakopee, Minn., Oct. 25, Meghan also received the third place High Point Pleasure Rider Award for the WSCA Champ Show held Sept. 19-22 at the coliseum. This show has over 1,300 of the top pleasure riders of all ages in the upper Midwest. In addition to her pleasure points in six classes, she also won first place in the Egg and Spoon game class. She helped the Scandia Riders Saddle Club win 4th place in the Games Division and 4th place in the overall Saddle Club Competition for the WSCA Champ Show and State Fair.
McCarville is a member of the Excelsior 4-H Club of the Chisago County area, led by Tim and Jenny Holt, of Center City. Tim and Jenny Holt were instrumental in helping Meghan get her first start in showing horses by taking McCarville and her first horse to local 4-H and saddle club shows. She has been riding for six years in Pleasure and Games Classes in local and state horse shows. She has been boarding and training her horse at the Rick-A-Shay Ranch, south of Chisago City.
McCarville is a senior at Chisago Lakes High School and is the daughter of Jim and Karen McCarville, of Lindstrom.
