Two North Branch Vikings have been named to the 2003 Rum River Conference volleyball team, and two more named All-Conference Honorable Mention, after the Vikings finished the conference season in a tie for second place. Rachel Brown and Jenny Anderson were selected All-Conference while Abby Fairbanks and Kaity Vichorek received Honorable Mention honors. Brown, Fairbanks and Vichorek are seniors, Anderson is a junior.

“All four of them had really solid years,” remarked Jim VanEerden, North Branch volleyball head coach. “I was pretty happy with the way our seniors played, I think they were the key to this year’s team.”

In addition, several team awards were handed out at the annual team banquet on Monday. Fairbanks was named the Most Valuable Senior, Kaity Vichorek grabbed the Offensive MVP award, and Kelsey Vichorek was recognized for her defense. Kelcey Vichorek and Kaia Nyberg took home Rookie of the Year honors.
