Last Tuesday, the Chisago Lakes girls golf team got the ball rolling on the 2004 season by placing fifth as a team at the Pine City scramble. Milaca won the event with a team score of 146. Pine City placed second.

As for the ‘Cats, Chisago’s first team of Jaime Tschida, Megan Corradi, and Ellen Watters cruised through the course, posting an 83. Add in a 97 from Andrea Nickelson, Krista Liebsch, and Krista Swanson, and the Wildcats finished with 180.

“Milaca has two strong juniors who lead their team, once again, they’ll be the team to beat,” mentioned Jeanne Hawkinson, Chisago Lakes head girls golf coach. “The girls had fun. It was a neat way to start the season. We got a chance to play together and build ourselves mentally as a team.”

With their first conference meet right around the corner, the extra work came just in time.
