It took some time, but the North Branch girls golf team finally kicked off their conference season last Thursday, hosting Mora and Pine City. Their meet earlier in the week against Big Lakes was postponed due to rain.

As it turned out, the wait was worth it as North Branch jumped on the Mustangs and Dragons, carding a team score of 213, four strokes better than Pine City and 39 strokes better than Mora.

Individually, three of the top five scores came from Vikings, led by Amy Aho who shot a 50. Amanda Bent from Pine City finished with a 48 to take medalist honors.
