The Chisago Lakes gymnastics team closed out the month of December in Big Lake at the Big Lake Invite. The eight team event was run in two divisions, division one and two. Performing in division one, the Wildcats placed third behind Big Lake and Pine Island. The ‘Cats missed second place by .05 of a point.

“We had a real good day on vault and bars but not so great on beam and floor,” said Ed Wakefield, Chisago Lakes head gymnastics coach. “We obviously had some good performances, we just need to put it all together.”

Eighth grader Britni Harris led the way for the Wildcats placing fifth in the all-around competition. That includes a second on the beam and a fifth on the vault. Breanna Albert and Jess Eastman followed, placing seventh and eighth respectively in the all-around.

“It was nice to see Britni and Jenna take second and fourth on bars and Mary and Dani take second and third on beam,” commented Wakefield. “Our biggest downfall at this point in the season is the floor. We have the ability, we just need to work harder in practice to put it together in the meets.”
