For Chisago Lakes, the truth is, 20 teams were comparing themselves to them last Monday. Out of 21 teams, the Wildcats finished second, coming in four strokes behind Grand Rapids.
Mike Tschida paced the ‘Cats with a four over par 76, good enough to earn medalist honors.
As for North Branch, the Vikings saw three of their six varsity golfers shoot in the 80’s while the other three topped 90. North Branch finished with a combined team score of 339, putting them 11 overall.
“The greens were really difficult,” mentioned Tom Moriarty, North Branch head boys golf coach. “They were quick, really quick. For the most part, I think we were happy with how we played considering the course and who we were facing.”
Bryan Peters led the way with an 80 followed by Tom Koep who carded an 81. Tyler Leland also cracked 90, finishing with 87.
