Enjoy a joyous holiday season

Let the hearings begin....again. It seems our President is in another pickle. He okay’d the order to eaves drop on various “questionable” people in our very own country. Granted he did this without the permission of Congress, he did notify some top officials. I can appreciate someone stating that their privacy rights have been violated, but I am pretty sure that President Bush wasn’t monitoring Joe Schmoe in Almelund. People in America want it all, they want to be safe and prosperous, lead a quality of life second to none, and have the freedom to do whatever they please, but you better not listen in on their phone lines or read their e-mails, because then you are taking that quality of life away. My point is, sadly the world has changed to a degree that the government now has to do whatever they can, albeit tapping of phones or whatever, to keep that warm cozy feeling we get when we talk about the great U.S.A. This in my mind has nothing to do with Bush, I would hope that if a democrat were in office, they would be just as concerned for our safety and freedom. And if tapping some questionable people’s phone lines protects me from another tragedy, well I say go ahead and listen.

The County Press would like to give a great big “get better” out to our friend Roger. Roger had been dealing with some sad family issues and came down with some health issues of his own. You have a wonderful family who loves you very much and lots of friends who hope to see you out and about real soon.

All of us here at the Chisago County Press would like to wish each and every one of you a very merry Christmas. We hope you will spend your holiday season with the ones you love and really enjoy Christmas for what it is. It seems we get way to caught up in the whole gift buying and giving rat race and we lose touch on what Christmas is really about. Make sure that when you spend this Christmas with your family you enjoy every minute of it. There is nothing more precious than your family, so please enjoy each other! Merry Christmas.
