The Flyaways 2004 Level 5 team recently participated in the Minnesota State Gymnastic Competition. In order to compete at the state meet, each gymnast had to receive an all-around score of 31.5 or higher at one of the three state qualifying meets. Flyaways had 21 gymnasts entered in the competition from Forest Lake and the surrounding areas. Coaches Mark Hegquist and Rhanda Laqua said, “The team had a great ending to a great season. With each competition this past season, the girls improved their performance. That is all we asked of them.”

Of the 26 teams competing at the state competition, Flyaways Level 5 team took 3rd place with a team score of 109.475.
