4th annual Tractor Caravan is part of annual Almelund Threshing Show
The 50th annual Almelund Threshing show begins the following Friday and goes through Sunday (Aug. 11-13). Drive your tractor or vintage vehicle to the Almelund Threshing Show. Wagons (with seating) will be provided for anyone wishing to participate without driving.
This year’s route will be east on Hwy. 95 to Oakview, south on Oakview to Maple, east on Maple where the caravan will detour through the parking lot of the North Branch Senior Center/Uptown Maple Commons Apartments. The caravan will continue east to Lincoln Avenue where it will turn south. The route continues south past the high school where it will make its way west to Co. Rd. 30. From there the group will head south to Co. Rd. 18 and east to the first rest stop at the Lent Town Hall.
After a brief break, the caravan will proceed east and north on County Road 18 and will rejoin Lincoln Trail (Co. Rd. 14). The route will continue to Co. Rd. 15 where it will turn north. After a pit stop at Kost Dam Park, the caravan will head north and east on County Road 15, eventually rejoining Hwy. 95 and east to the showgrounds.
The Almelund Threshing Company will provide help with traffic control along the way and Roger’s Towing, from North Branch, will follow the caravan with a rescue truck. If anyone cannot continue, Roger’s Towing will provide free rescue service as they have for every caravan. No one will be left behind.
Participants are welcome to join the caravan along the way.
Hamburgers and refreshments will be provided at no charge, upon arrival at Almelund by Jim and Carrie, from the North Branch Dairy Queen and the Almelund Lions.
A bus will be provided by Hunts Transportation to bring everyone who needs a lift back to Anderson & Koch Ford to retrieve their car, truck or trailer. Vehicles will be secured in Anderson & Koch’s fenced lot.
This will prove once again to be a full day of fun for any area tractor or vintage vehicle enthusiasts that may choose to attend.
