North Branch head baseball coach Steve Christensen’s team finished the season with a 5-14 overall record, including four wins and 10 losses in the North Suburban Conference. Christensen had some comments about his team and individual players after his rookie season with the team.

“Tony (Dahlberg) worked hard and improved all through the year. That’s all that you can ask for.

 “There were a handful of games that were within reach. In these games, a clutch hit or key defensive play could have changed the outcome,” the coach said.

 “As Matt (Warren), Dom (Stahley) and Marty (Savage) move on, this team is still left with players that had valuable playing time.  Those remaining players, plus others, will improve through the American Legion baseball team this summer as well.  Improvement in skill level and bringing a competitive edge to each and every game next year will prove to be invaluable to this team,” Christensen concluded.
