Brad Pitt for city council? Get out and meet your candidates
Halloween is Tuesday. I hope you have all your costumes in order. Along with Halloween goes tricks or treaters, lots and lots of them. Please be very careful when driving on Halloween. So many of these costumes now are dark in color and very hard to see. Kids are so excited on Halloween that they forget about looking both ways. Let’s make this Halloween a fun and safe Halloween.
Did you hear about the man running for sheriff in Wisconsin? It seems in Platteville, Wis., a man named Bill Frederick thought that if he had a recognizable name on the ballot, well he just might have a chance to win the sheriff position. The name he changed it to? Andy Griffith. The sad part is he probably will win. Hmmm...I have an idea for some local politicians who hope to capture the hearts of the voters. How about voting for Brad Pitt for city council, or Jessica Simpson for mayor? How could you go wrong?
The November election is growing ever so near, and you can see it is an important one by the number of letters we have received. It appears that people are getting involved, and that is wonderful. Hopefully there are no hidden agendas for people running for office. That almost never turns out in a positive light. There is still time to get familiar with politicians and better understand what they stand for. Please vote with your head. Do not vote for someone because you recognize a last name or you heard from someone who heard from someone that this politician is the way to go.
I had the pleasure of spending a long weekend with my soon-to-be 90 year-young grandmother. I have said it before, there is nothing better than watching a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old worship their great-grandmother. It’s like their mom and dad were not in the room whenever she was around. For someone about to turn 90, she acts like she’s 50. I can only hope and pray that I have her genes in me. And there is definitely something to be said about––you are only as old as you feel. Thanks Gram for a wonderful weekend and realigning my outlook again.
