Donald "Don" Severson, 86, of Center City, Minn., passed away October 26. There will be a visitation at 10 a.m., followed by the Memorial Service at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lindstrom. Rev. Paul Bjorklund will officiate.

Burial at Trinity Cemetery, rural Litchville, North Dakota. Graveside services at 10 a.m., Monday, November 5, with Rev. Lucinda Nygard Lien officiating.

Don was born February 4, 1921, to Melvin and Anna (Halverson) Severson, in Ransom County, North Dakota. He grew up in Enderlin, ND. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for the Soo Line Railroad and other independent contractors as an electrician. Prior to retiring in 1983, he was an electrical inspector for the City of Minneapolis. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lindstrom, and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Don married Leona Pollert; she preceded him in death. He later married Lucille (Thompson) Hylbak February 1, 1974. Don loved being from North Dakota; he was proud to be in the Navy throughout WWII and he enjoyed working as an electrician. Don's hobbies included dancing, socializing with friends, puttering at his workbench and inventing something from parts of other things.

Survivors include his wife Lucille, children Sandra (Thomas) Cordie, Sartell; Debra (Mark) Urista, Anoka; and Keith (Jennifer) Severson, Golden Valley; Joan (Jim) Rodberg, Center City; Steve (Mar) Hylbak, Apple Valley.

Don had 11 grandchildren: Tasmin Cordie, Erie, PA; Lissa (Matt) Nikodym, Waite Park; Alison Cordie, Stevens Point, WI; Chase (Erika) Urista, Zimmerman; Brandi (Adam) McAlpine, Anoka; Noelle Urista, Anoka; Hannah Severson, Golden Valley; Cindy (John) Lloyd, Ostego; Steven Rodberg, Brooklyn Park; Lindsay (Mark) Manternach, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Luke Hylbak, Shoreview; and one brother, Garfield Severson, St. Cloud.

His great-grandchildren include Laila Nikodym, Paris and Chance Urista, Jersi McAlpine, Evan Lloyd, Riley and Madelyn Manternach.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Charlotte Gessner.
