The Chisago Lakes girls U17 Classic 3 soccer team completed a remarkable season by beating St. Peter 2-1 to win the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association Summer State Tournament Wednesday, July 29th at the National Sports Center in Blaine.

The team had a strong run through the North District Tournament and avenged their only tie and loss of the regular season by beating Proctor 4-2 and Cambridge/Isanti 3-2. Those victories allowed the team to advance to a regional playoff game in which they defeated Wright County 4-1. To earn the right to face St. Peter in the state championship game, Chisago Lakes won their round-robin bracket by tying a very physical team from Mankato 1-1 and posting an impressive 3-2 victory over a previously undefeated Bloomington team.
