Taylors Falls Elementary fifth graders attended Junior Achievements 'Biz Town' Dec. 19. Students prepare for the day of running their own city by learning about personal finances and business practices in the classroom. At Biz Town, each student has a job at one of 15 different businesses and must manage a checkbook and patronize other businesses throughout the day. They must also work together toward the day's goal of taking in enough money to pay off the bank loan for each business. In top photo, workers prepare for the day at the café, where they sell juice and popcorn; above, CEOs of each business present information during a town hall meeting; right, reporter Sarah Plank interviews Carly Peterson for a story in the Biz Town newspaper.
