The CLHS Knowledge Bowl team competed in the North Suburban Conference tournament Feb. 24 and came away with the Academic All-Conference Award. This award is presented to the team with the best average GPA. Team members are seniors Mary Gerty, Holly Gruntner, Zac Peterson, Ian Stokes, and Zak Vrudny; junior Gus Molina; sophomores Amelia Birkholz, Maggie Christensen, Donyal Eret, Zach Geno, Ali Gerrick, Justin Goodroad, Erin Hawkinson, and Aubrey Lawlor; and freshmen Kailee Carlson, Taylor Delzer, Maggie Gerty, Maddie Hallberg, Clara Linehan, Alex Vrudny, and Charlie Wilcox. Knowledge Bowl is an interdisciplinary academic competition for students. Students compete in meets with a written round of multiple choice questions and oral rounds where they go head-to-head in a Jeopardy-style match with other teams of 4-5 students. Questions relate to all subjects, from calculus to poetry, all typical of the subject matter taught in high school.
