Recently, 13 Chisago Lakes High School students participated in the 21st MTEA Supermileage Competition. Three teams constructed separate vehicles to participate in the Modified, E-85 and Stock classes of the competition.

The Modified Vehicle (orange) placed third in this class a 6-run competition average mileage rating of 494.55 MPG. The highest single rating for this vehicle was 520.55 MPG. The top mileage rating in this class was from 749.08 by a team from Watertown Mayer HS.

The CLHS team consisted of Jim Larson, Alex Cleary, Logan Lange and Jake Goodroad.

The E-85 vehicle (Green) placed fourth in this class with a competition average of 242.59 mpg and a highest single rating of 318.33 mpg. The top mileage rating in this class was from 583.12 by a team from Alden Conger.

The CLHS team consisted of Mike Peterson, Tyler McConville, Mariah Neff, Mike Ratgen and Joe Heinonen.

The Stock vehicle placed seventh with a competition average of 345.5 mpg and a highest single rating of 375.05 mpg. This team also received an award from the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association for "Overall Quality of Craftsmanship" of the 98 vehicles that were entered in this year's competition. The top mileage rating in this class was from 773.09 by a team from Eden Prairie.

The CLHS team consisted of: Jordan Eng, Christian Arnold, Marquel Dressel and Austin LeTourneau.

The Supermileage Team advisor is CLHS teacher Mike Sandell.
