Tomorrow, Friday-the-13th is a big day in North Branch. City, federal and state officials are celebrating groundbreaking for the construction of a new #95 and I-35 bridge. There will be a photo op moment with shovels ceremonially turning the earth, and all involved are welcome to enjoy refreshments back at the North Branch Fire Hall, which should be at approximately 9:15 a.m.

North Branch City Engineer Julie Dresel said the bridge replacement will be done under traffic, meaning there will always be at least one lane across the freeway open during the project.

Dresel invites any businesspeople or others who might have questions about traffic access and other issues to meet with her at noon, Monday, Nov. 16 at Bella Cafe and Fudge at the Outlet Center-- or Tuesday, Nov. 17, at noon, at Dairy Queen. Dresel also plans to make a point of attending Chamber of Commerce meetings which take place the second Tuesday of every month at the North Branch American Legion Post.

There are displays of the new bridge and road section design have been set up at North Branch Municipal Liquor Store and at City Hall.
