The North Branch-Chisago Lakes Robotics Team is competing in Atlanta, Georgia today (April 15), tomorrow and Saturday in the nationals.

The team is number 3038, and is in the "Newton Division." The competition is featured on a webcast and you can check up on all the action on the robotics program's website; USFirst.org.

The team includes approximately 20 students from the North Branch and Chisago Lakes area high schools, who took home the 10,000 Lakes Region trophy in competition in the Twin Cities. There's 86 other teams listed in this team's division competing in Atlanta. In total there are 344 robotics teams at the nationals. The national event ends the evening of April 17.

The local students should be heading home Sunday, April 18 via an all-day charter bus ride. Several volunteer adult chaperones are traveling with the local students on this amazing experience.

The robotics competition has been made possible by St. Jude Medical, who sponsors the North Branch-Chisago team's start-up and robotics kit costs. Dozens of local donors have also contributed to the season costs and/or the nationals trip.
