Hannah Nordby, an eighth grade Chisago Lakes soccer player, recently was selected to join the Minnesota ODP (Olympic Development Program) Regional Team.

She traveled with 17 other U13 Minnesota soccer girls to the Region II Camp in DeKalb, Ill. on Junly 15-18.

ODP is a program designed to identify soccer talent run by the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association and USA Soccer. Starting last fall, Nordby trained with the distrcit ODP girls in Coon Rapids for six weeks.

This past May, a selection process identified the top 30 girls from each age group chosen for further evaluation and possible selection to the Minnesota team.

Training continued each Sunday night in Woodbury with the final evaluation taking place in early June.

Nordby was then selected to join 17 other girls to represent Minnesota on the team.

She is the daughter of Betsy and Mark Nordby and plays on the U13 Chisago Lakes girls soccer team coached by Travis Delzer.
