Patricia L. Budig, age 61 of Lino Lakes passed away peacefully surrounded by family Friday, August 27, 2010 at St. John's North east Hospital, in Maplewood.

Patricia was born July 17, 1949 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to LeeVerne and Pauline (Moody) Peterson. She was raised in Center City where she attended schools, graduating in 1967. She went on to the University of Wisconsin River Falls where she majored in Education and minored in English. She married Steven Budig June 7, 1969 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, in Center City. Patricia enjoyed raising her five children and worked as a substitute teacher for the Centennial School District. One of her passions was family geneology and she spent many hours researching her families history. She liked arts and crafts, collecting state bells, Swedish Folk Dancing and collecting antiques. Her favorite time was spent being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her mother, Pauline Christensen of Lindstrom, children; Paula (Jason) Greve of Lino Lakes, Leah Budig of Fridley, Andrea (Jay) Rubik of Denver, CO, Timothy S. (Bridget) Budig of Forest Lake, Caisia Budig of Lino Lakes; her five grandchildren, Peyton and Ainsley Greve; Sebastian, Nicholas and Alexander Rubik; sister, Suzanne (Duane) Browning of Thief River Falls; brother, James (Sara) Peterson of Lindstrom and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father LeeVerne Peterson; husband Steve Budig, in 1989, and nephew Logan Browning.

Funeral services Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City with Rev. Craig Lundstad-Vogt officiating. Organist Marilyn Whalstrom. Interment follows the service at Hillside Cemetery in Center City. Visitation from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom and also one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.
