While research is coming up with new methods of identification and treatment, it still may leave homeowners confused as to what to do. Jason Rehn, District Technician from Chisago Soil and Water, will speak at our Spring Gardening Bonanza. His topic is what you can expect from the Emerald Ash Borer.
Jason speaks about (not if,) but when the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is expected to move throughout Minnesota killing much of the states ash tree population. Learn how to identify symptoms an ash tree displays when attacked and what to do to potentially protect your ash trees.
Join us at the 2010 Spring Gardening Bonanza and Town and Country Expo, and hear Jason and others speak on timely topics. It is sponsored by the Chisago County Master Gardeners in partnership with the Chisago Soil and Water Conservation District. It will be held on Saturday, March 13, 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City, MN. Note, this is a new location and the first time it is being held at the south end of the county. Remember, Chisago Lake Lutheran is where the wedding for Grumpy Old Men, was filmed.
The cost is $10 for the day and class sizes are limited and filled as registrations are received. Those attending will have an opportunity to visit about twenty vendors and can buy coffee, rolls, and lunch. If you have questions, call the Extension office at 651-213-8901, or 651-213-8904. Hope to see you at the Bonanza.
