U17 boys soccer team completes league play in Blaine unbeaten
The team roster is made up of eight players from the Chisago Lake Area High School and eight players from the North Branch High Schools. In addition the roster includes Jared Antilla from the Chisago Lakes Baptist school and Asher Emlquist who attends Osceola High School in Wisconsin.
During the season the boys won both the Walmart All American Cup held at the National Sport Center with a record of 4 wins and 0 loses. They recently won the North American Challenge tournament put on by the Blaine soccer club with an identical record of the 4 wins and 0 loses.
By winning the North District League title the team qualified to competing in the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association State Tournament to be held later this month at the Coon Rapid Soccer complex. They will play a team from Mankato in the first round on July 24 at 11 a.m. and the West Regional play off winner on Sunday July 25 at 11 a.m. Should they progress the to the final game that win be played on Wednesday July 28 at 5 p.m.
