The Chisago Lakes-North Branch Robotics Competition Team, (minus a few members) brought their robot to the North Branch School Board meeting room last week to share details of their robotics program. Becky Leuer, far rt, and Scott Frischmon, next to her, were the districts' volunteer team adult mentors, but many other adults from both school communities were involved. And, Frischmon, released from his Chisago Lakes High School industrial arts post due to recent budget cuts, has been hired in North Branch to replace Ralph Norrgard, who retired. The North Branch School Board applauded the team's participation in the international technology program and its achievements in placing in the world contest held a few weeks ago. Leuer said St. Jude's Medical has agreed to help sponsor the team again next year. The team also competes in the Minnesota State Fair, with their event tentatively scheduled for August 26, Leuer added.
