In the second game the U12 girls had a rematch with the number one ranked team from Tartan, whom they had lost to in the American Region Tournament two weeks before. Chisago Lakes was ready to avenge their loss, and came out strong in the first period with two unanswered goals by Amy Budde and Alison Route. In the second period Tartan answered right back, making the score 2-1. Hannah Johnson scored a third goal for the Wildcats half way through the third period. But Tartan was not to be denied their chance. They scored their second goal with three minutes left in the third period. Chisago Lakes hung on to the lead, winning the game 3-2, which sent them to the championship game on Sunday afternoon.
The championship game was played against the third seed from the American Region and District 10 rival Champlin Park. Both teams felt it was an honor to have two teams representing D10 in the biggest game of the U12B season. The game was a very tight one. Strong defense and goaltending by both teams kept the score at the bare minimum. Champlin Park scored a goal in the first period and Chisago Lakes wasn't able to answer back. They lost 0-1, but captured the second place trophy and ended their season feeling satisfied about what they had accomplished as a team. Congratulations Chisago Lakes U12B team on a fabulous season!
