Galileo, Edison, and Einstein would have been impressed if they were to visit last week's Science Fair at Lakeside Elementary. "How is cotton candy made? What makes a stock car fast? How does a crystal radio work? and What is gravitational pull?" were answered and explained by the 4th grade students at Lakeside Elementary.

Tuesday, April 27, all 4th graders took part in Lakeside's annual science fair. Students chose topics according to interest and curiosity. They researched, experimented, and reported their findings in order to answer to their question. As scientists, they followed the scientific process by writing a hypothesis, testing and collecting data, and finally, reporting the results on their poster board. As the experts of their topics, each student gave a classroom demonstration in preparation for the interview and presentation day. As always, the boards were organized, colorful, and very informative.

Parents and families were involved with the fair as they were asked to assist as much as they saw fit. Final interviews were conducted, and photographs were taken by parent volunteers. Their time was much appreciated and their positive feedback made each child feel successful and important. One never knows if Lakeside will be the elementary school of our next famous scientist!
