So far so good, on the county census responses with follow up underway until July
The Census Bureau has door-to-door 2010 census takers working in the county now.
The time to return your mailed form has come and gone. The census takers are following up on unreturned forms and meeting in person with citizens until July. If you miss their visit, a document will be left behind at your door with a phone number to call and schedule a return visit. (Photo)
Please be sure to set up a few minutes to meet with a census taker. There isn't a big call for in person visits in Chisago County, because the county's response rate as a whole is 81 percent.
Other high response areas include: Amador, Lent, Wyoming and Stacy all have 85 percent of their census forms returned. The lowest response rate is from Center City at 71 percent.
The response rate for Chisago County in 2000, the last time this 10-year headcount was done-- was only 54 percent.
FYI... the county population was 30,521 in 1990; it was 41,101 in 2000 and estimates are it will top 51,000 for 2010.
