The big election is right around the corner. If you are like me, you are still formulating who you are going to vote for. Some races it seems there is a clear choice and some I have absolutely no idea who to vote for. There are even some races where I would prefer to not cast my vote because I don't support either candidate. Nonetheless, I will vote and I hope that you make an effort to get out and vote as well.
Speaking of voting, there are a few changes in polling locations this year. If you live in North Branch and live north of Highway 95 you will now vote at the United Methodist Church which is located on Main Street next to the old Middle School. If you live in Wyoming, everyone will now cast their vote at Maranatha Church which is located on Highway 61 just south of town.
If you are a fan of garage saling, I have one that you might want to put on your calendar. It runs next Thursday and will be held in Center City. I normally do not write about garage sales, but this one is special. All of the proceeds from this one day sale will go directly to Camp Triumph for Kids. Camp Triumph is a weekend camp that is help for grieving children. The camp joins children with counselors and other grieving children to help them cope with a tragedy in their lives. It encourages these kids to express their feelings and learn powerful coping skills that they will use in everyday life. It is a wonderful camp that is run by great people who only care about these children's well being. The sale is located 14580 310th St. in Center City and runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
I don't like to re-run words I have already written but this one is worthy of another mention. Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom is holding a Kids Outerwear Fair at the end of October.
What is an outerwear fair? These wonderful volunteers have been taking in very gently used winter clothing for children of all ages all year. They will then distribute them to families who might need help putting warm clothes on their children this winter. The distribution is free to people in need with no questions asked.
There is still time for you to donate to this unbelievable event. They will accept donations until October 15. If you have any gently used or new coats, hats, mittens, scarves, snow pants or blankets that you would like to donate, please bring them to Trinity. If you would like to help volunteer, please call Chris at 257-5681 or Bonnie at 257-6822. Believe me folks, I promise you that your donations will be appreciated.
The Wildcat seniors would like to invite you to next Wednesdays football game. The game is played on Wednesday because of no school Thursday or Friday (MEA). Beginning at 5 p.m. the seniors will offer a tailgate party that will have great food, fun and games, a raffle, and hair coloring. If it is anything like pre-game homecoming festivities, this event will be packed with people supporting their team and the senior class.
Remember if you are thinking about attending this year's Wildcat Wrestling Fundraiser, time is running out. The event happens next Saturday at the Lent Town Hall. As I wrote last week, I would urge you to purchase your tickets now. Last year the event was held at the Chisago City Community Center and there were so many people that some folks actually ate their dinner in the cat room of all places.
