Hazel M. Johnson, Ph.D., age 91 of St. Anthony, passed away September 6, 2010.

She is preceded in death by sisters Irene (Roy) Maslen and Violet (Maurice) Zeien. Hazel is survived by cousins. She is a 1941 Graduate of Swedish Hospital School of Nursing. Served in US Army 1942-1945, and earned a Bachelor of Science with High Distinction 1946, Masters of Education 1960, Doctor of Philosophy 1969 all from the University of MN. Instructor at Swedish and Abbott Schools of Nursing. Chairwoman at Gustavus Adolpus Nursing Dept. 1969-1981.

Her life centered on serving God with special interest in missions to the third world.

Funeral Service 11 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Mount Carmel Lutheran Church, 1701 St. Anthony Parkway, Minneapolis.

Visitation one hour prior to service at church. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Center City.

Memorials preferred to Mount Carmel Lutheran Church, Luther Seminary, or Gustavus Adolphus College.
