The 2010 Minnesota Middle Level Principal of the Year is now the North Branch Area High School Principal, Coleman McDonough. He will be traveling - at no expense to North Branch Area Public Schools to Washington D.C. as part of the honor of receiving the award in January.

McDonough will be meeting personally with Congressman Jim Oberstar, and others, to discuss issues facing NBAPS and to advocate for the district and community.

McDonough came to North Branch High School from St. Paul Public Schools, where he worked with and was mentored by NBAPS superintendent Deb Henton. The district couldn't be more proud that principal McDonough is being recognized for his instructional leadership the supt. stated." For his part, McDonough credits Henton with providing him tools to lead. "She has deeply impacted my philosophy as a leader and as a person. I am grateful for the opportunity to once again follow her leadership, and have an impact on the students of North Branch Area High School," he said.
