Minnesota's second season, the one featuring orange cones, is soon upon us
MNDOT is starting a couple of its metro projects this month, but most roadwork isn't slated to get underway until June.
What to be aware of:
Highway 8 from Forest Lake to Karmel Avenue in Chisago City...resurfacing takes place beginning June. This is a $1.8 million project.
Highway 8 from the #95 intersection in Franconia Township east to Taylors Falls, is being resurfaced. Project cost $200,000. Starts in July.
Interstate 35 the stretch of highway through Wyoming/Stacy and to almost one mile north of North Branch interchange, to be resurfaced. Starts this month and runs to July. Project cost is $9 million.
Interstate 35E from about the Forest Lake split south to Ramsey County Hwy. 96. Crews are doing a concrete overlay and installing cable in median. Work is scheduled all summer. Project cost $22 million.
Highway 95 from Franconia to Scandia, at Hwy. 97. The project is for resurfacing and adding a right turn lane northbound at the Osceola Bridge Road. Scheduled to begin in July. This is a $4.3 million project.
There's also a "living snow fence" being planted at the County Road 17 interchange (Lent Township) with I-35. Project cost is $75,000. Probably won't impact traffic much.
