The Chisago Lakes Girls U19 C-2 soccer team wrapped up a very successful campaign in the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association Summer League by winning a state championship! The season ending state tournament was held at the Coon Rapids Soccer Complex over the last week of July. In their first game, the Wildcats defeated a physical team from Inver Grove Heights by a score of 6-1. They followed that game with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Waconia a few hours later to advance to the championship game held on July 28. The Wildcats came out very strong, withstood an early surge by their opponent Monticello and proceeded to win by a score of 5-0. The championship game represented excellent team effort featuring solid play on both sides of the pitch - including lethal goal scoring, strong play form the midfield and outstanding defense across the line.
