LID Board members unanimously passed a motion to formalize a previous agreement to change the Annual LID Meeting from the month of August to the month of February.
Because of the state government shutdown, two Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) project meetings will likely be rescheduled towards the end of September.
EOR engineers completed the surveying between North Center and North Lindstrom Lakes. A meeting was held Friday, July 29 to look at the data and options. The option of cleaning out the channel near North Center Lake was preferred. EOR will look at how wide the channel can be created and what agencies need to be involved and met with. A channel elevation goal of 894 feet was decided upon. Movement on this project is highly dependent on the state and how the County Road 20 bridge is ranked.
Mary Christopherson LID clerk and education specialist, summarized the Chisago Lakes NEMO Workshop held on July 28, 2011. Ten folks attended the workshop; presentations were made by SWCD (Casey Thiel), EOR (Jay Michels), John Olinger (City of Lindstrom), and Jerry Spetzman. Issues that came up during discussions were septic compliance, dealing with multiple jurisdictions on a single lake, gully on Maple Street, and creating a Lake Management Plan for the CLA.
The LID Board was given a letter of thanks for financial contribution towards the 2011 Chisago County Children's Water Festival.
LID meetings are held every first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in Room 142 at the Chisago County Government Center in Center City. All are welcome and encouraged to attend! **Due to the Labor Day Holiday**
The next LID meeting is September 12.
