Simley 4, North Branch 2

Zach Fairbanks scored twice for the Vikings in the third period of last Thursday's game against the Simley Spartans. Unfortunately, Simley scored four times in the second period to beat the Vikings 4-2 in a game played at Veteran's Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights. Fairbanks' first goal was unassisted. Zach Shepherd and Ryan Zentner assisted on the other score.

The Spartans outshot the Vikings 40 to 11 for the game. Viking goalie Kolton Kiester played well, stopping 36 of the 40 shots he faced.



Moose Lake 12, North Branch 2

The Moose Lake Rebels scored early, late and often to overwhelm the Vikings 12-2 last Saturday, December 17 at Chisago Lakes Arena. Nick Walker scored an unassisted goal for the Vikings in the second period, and Zach Fairbanks scored in the final frame, assisted by Brandon Kratzke and Walker. The Vikings (2-6) host Windom (2-3-1) next Wednesday, December 28 at 3 p.m. at Chisago Lakes Arena.
