Rotary golf event to aid many needy babies and support moms
The Chisago Lakes Rotary held an 18-hole golf scramble in June and just last week the proceeds of this benefit event were presented to Baby Blanket officials. Chisago Lakes Rotary donated $5,000 to the organization, which is based in St. Bridget's Church, Lindstrom.
The local Rotary has raised over $140,000 to support community and service activities. The motto is Service Above Self. Rotary meets at Eichten's on Hwy. 8 in Center City for lunch and business meetings every Tuesday at noon.
The Rotary was represented by Kristine Nelson Fuge, Joanie Sackreiter and Pres. Jason Gamble.
The donation was happily accepted by Father Wehmann, Lorraine Swenson, Pam Breuhl, Jim and Trudy Pavlicek, Ann Freundschuh and Mary Crouse.
Baby Blanket is in the lower level of St. Bridget's and is open for donations of items that could be used by moms-to-be or families with young children. The group only accepts new car seats and cribs however--due to safety concerns.
