On May 6, Alisha Peterson from Chisago Lakes High School joined over 200 students, parents, and teachers from across Minnesota to attend the Freedom Foundation of Minnesota's A Legacy of Leadership: Ronald Reagan Essay Contest spring awards banquet. Semi-finalists were recognized for their essays that sought to answer the question: "What was President Ronald Reagan's greatest public policy achievement?"

Congressman John Kline served as the keynote speaker for the evening, and shared some of his personal stories about working as the military aide with President Reagan. He also presented awards to the top six finalists in the essay competition.
