The North Branch-Chisago Lakes FIRST Robotics Team held their first summer camp June 20-23 at North Branch Area High School. Rookie team members built a basic robot from the ground up including electronics and programming. More advanced team members built a t-shirt shooter with a moving turret using pneumatics to shoot the shirt. Mentors Scott Frischmon and Ken Cummings conducted the camp with the help of new mentor Tomy Cummings. Team 3038 welcomed three new members to the team, Max Hyslop, Alyssa Johnson, and Newell Fisk. "This camp was a great opportunity for the kids to get hands on experience that they didn't get during the season and will help our team.

Younger team members have now built a robot and the older kids got to figure out and use pneumatics which is one area we have not spent much time with" commented Scott Frischmon.

Anyone student at North Branch or Chisago Lakes interested in joining the team should contact the activities office at either school. Team 3038 gets major annual support from the St. Jude Medical Foundation.
