A man and woman from Hayward Wisc. and a Minneapolis man were booked into county jail by a state patrol trooper; after what began as a routine traffic stop for a seatbelt offense. Their vehicle was stopped on I-35, between North Branch and the Lent Township interchange, Sunday, March 13.

Authorities said there was an illegal weapon(s) in the vehicle and evidence of controlled substances was found. There were outstanding warrants on the metro area resident as well. A grade-school aged child in the vehicle was released to relatives.

Friday, March 11 the authorities were called to I-35 southbound, near the Harris rest stop, after receiving reports that a single car rolled about 11:30 p.m.

A couple of victims transported to Fairview Hospital in Wyoming are from Forest Lake. Megan Hermes, 21, was identified as the driver. Her passenger, Judith Hermes, 57, was also hurt and transported. Two additional passengers were reported as unhurt in preliminary details. The full report is pending. North Branch sent an ambulance, Harris and Rush City Fire responders also assisted.
