"I Love to Read Month" kicks off all-school read at Lakeside Elementary

Students at Lakeside Elementary participated in a variety of activities at the school in honor of February being "I Love to Read Month." The month was kicked-off with an all-school read in the hallways. Students worked hard to earn the weekly prizes by reading. The grand prize was a movie and popcorn with School Principal Warren Retzlaff. The month with a parade and ceremony. Each classroom put together a float that represented a book, series or author. The parade was a great hit enjoyed by all. Top Accelerated Reader earners for each class were announced. The top earners in each grade were given an award, medal and gift card to Barnes and Noble. Awarded were third grader Issac Roy, fourth grader Reece Friedner, and fifth grader Natalie Seaton. For entertainment during the ceremony the staff at Lakeside participated in an obstacle course, which students found to be humorous and amusing. Lakeside was full of activities, fun, and most importantly, students reading!
