Almost 1,200 students from across the state gathered in Minneapolis, March 10-12 for the state leadership conference. Chisago Lakes students spent time while on their spring break for competition; Katie Audette, Caitlin Bjorgan, Morgan Ford, David Hudson, Danielle Hoyt, and Joe LaBarre. Joe LaBarre placed 1st in Computerized Accounting and 4th in Payroll Accounting. David Hudson placed 6th for Payroll Accounting. Caitlin Bjorgan placed 6th in Keyboarding. Morgan Ford placed 5th in Human Resources and 11th in Medical Concepts. Danielle Hoyt placed 14th in Computerized Accounting.

Three students have the opportunity to compete at the national level in May. Joe LaBarre, David Hudson, and Caitlin Bjorgan qualified to participate. The BPA National Leadership Conference is being held in Washington D.C. They will join students from around the country for competition and leadership workshops. Chisago Lakes students really followed this year's BPA national motto of STAND OUT from the crowd!

Business Professionals of America is a student organization that promotes student knowledge and involvement in business.

BPA is for students interested in pursuing careers in Business Management, Office Administration, Information Technology, Accounting and other related career fields.
