He grew up on a farm in Shafer, graduated from Taylors Falls Public School in May 1960. He married his high school girlfriend from Barron Wisc., Neva Jansen Nov. 11, 1961. He bough a farm next to his parents and was a dairy and crop farmer until 1990. He also did extra work such as milk truck driver, when trucks carried milk cans. He drove from 1966-1970.
In 1979 he started delivering the Chisago County Press for John Silver. He also started to work at Shadow Creek Stables for Susan Moore. He worked there on and off for 10 years. He began delivering ECM (which is the Peach, Search & Advertisers) in 1987. He also started delivering the Mpls. Tribune in 1990. He delivered all the papers until his death.
He loved to keep busy; the later years his "days off" were when he was in the hospital. Luther loved to farm and kept tabs on other farms while he was delivering papers. He loved the Vikings and the Gopher football teams and also basketball. He loved country music. He was a wonderful man.
Surviving Luther are his wife Neva Noyd; two daughters Kathy Noyd (Bob) of Shafer and Vicki Ford of St. Paul; five grandchildren, Tom Stoffel, Rob Gibbs, Tiffany and Reo Ford and Sabrina Ruthstrom.
