Looking on are Lindstrom Council Members Curt Flug, Ann Marie Brink and Joe Wishy. Lakes Area Police Department has participated in the Toward Zero Deaths Traffic Enforcement Program since 1994. The program is a federal grant program that provides money for traffic law enforcement with a focus on distracted driving, speed reduction, seat belt enforcement and impaired driving enforcement. "Our goal is to reduce deaths and injuries in traffic crashes through traffic enforcement" said Chief Stenson. "The Stalker radar unit represents a $2000 investment in our Police Department the officers of Lakes Area earned this radar unit through their dedication to saving lives" continued Stenson. Traffic Deaths have continued to decline in recent years through many efforts one of which being traffic enforcement.
