Charles W. Spreiter of Centuria, Wisc., formerly of Taylors Falls, MN died Sunday July 22 at his home at the age of 80. Charles was born April 7, 1932 in Staples, MN to Walter and Beulah Spreiter. He graduated from Staples High School. He joined the United States Air force in 1950 and served until Honorably Discharged in August of 1954. On November 27, 1954 he married Donna Anderson at First Lutheran Church in Taylors Falls. Charles was trained as a machinist working at Glomar, now Plastic Products in Lindstrom, and Merit Machine in Taylors Falls, eventually buying and owning the company until his “retirement” in 1998. He and his wife Donna also owned and operated the Dalles Mini-Mart in downtown Taylors Falls. In his free time Charles was a boy Scout Leader, enjoyed coin collecting, taking flying lessons, and his family. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John, James, and his son Allan. He is survived by his wife Donna, sons James of Salt lake City, UT., Donald (Linda) of Amery, Gary of Amery; daughters Cathy (Michael) Gillespie of Centuria, Gail (Roger) Gustafson of Taylors Falls, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and sister Margie (Bob) Wonders of Staples, MN. Funeral services were Friday July 27 at First Lutheran Church in Taylors Falls. Interment was in the Kahbakong Cemetery. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home www.grandstandfh.com.
